Senzokuike Park

Senzokuike Park has a big pond and some interesting spots around it.
It's not too big and not too small.
It takes about 15 - 20 minutes to walk around the pond.

There're shrines, a temple, a water plants garden and grave of Kaishu Katsu etc.
There're rental boats.

Tamagawadai Park - Ancient Tomb Room

In Tamagawadai Park, there's a little museum about ancient tombs in the park.
There's a model of the tomb and excavated items are exhibited.

Several ancient tombs are kept as they are in the park.
They are like little hills and covered with plants, so people may not notice them as tombs.

Tamagawadai Park

Tamagawadai Park is also near Tamagawa station.
After you get out from the station, you'll see Seseragi Park on the left side and you can get to the stairs to Tamagawadai Park in 20 seconds on the right side.

This park is along with Tamagawa River.
There're some ancient tombs in the park.

Seseragi Park

Seseragi means "creek" of "little stream".
This park is located at next to Tamagawa station.
It takes only 10 seconds to the park from the station.

This park is hilly but many fields for sports.
Some fields are on the top of the hill and other fields are at the bottom of the hill.

There're spring water ponds and they connected by creek.

Den-en Chofu Station

Den-en Chofu station looks like an European house.
This little cute station building is not in use now.
This original station building was built in 1923 and torn down in 1990, but it's restored in 2000.

It's on the top of the stairs in front of current real station building.

Ancient Orient Museum

Ancient Orient Museum in Sunshine City in Ikebukuro is the museum focused on West Asia and Egypt area.

Collections are more than 5000 items from the Old Stone Age to Sassanid.

Its library has more than 20,000 books and magazines related to Ancient Asia.

Tenso Shrine

Tenso Shrine started as village shrine for current Sugamo / Otsuka area in 1320's.
Amaterasu Omikami (Goddess of the Sun) is defied here, same god as Ise Shrine.

A pair of huge ginkgo trees are about 600 years old and respected as trees of God.
One is male tree and another one is female tree.

Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery has about 4 special exhibitions of contemporary art a year.
Special exhibition is held in big white exhibition rooms.

Concurrently, exhibitions from their own collections are held.
Also, works of young artists are exhibited in corridor.

Tokyo Opera City - Concert Hall

Tokyo Opera City has a concert hall at the end of galleria.
It has natural woods on ceiling for better sound.
There's a pipe organ, too.

It's called Takemitsu Memorial Hall to commemorate Mitsuru Takemitsu.
He's a composer who was involved in design of this concert hall but passed away before the opening.

Tokyo Opera City is a commercial complex with concert hall and art gallery.
It's located in Hatsudai which is the next station from Shinjuku on Keio Line.

The New National Theater is next door.

It has a high rise office building, galleria and sunken garden.
There're many restaurants on 53rd &54th floor and B1 floor through 2nd floor.
