Heian Jingu Shrine was established in 1895 to celebrate 1100th anniversary of becoming Capital. Capital was transferred from Nara to Kyoto in 794.
50th Emperor was defied since he was the emperor in 794.
This shrine is very new in Kyoto.
Main hall was built in the scale of five eighth of the original main hall 1200 years ago. Even current building is very big.
Impression of this shrine is wide open.
