Koiwa Shobuen Park is a Iris field on the dry riverbed of Edogawa river.
This flower field is specialized in Iris.
So you should visit here in late May through Mid June.

Meiji Shrine Gyoen

Meiji Shrine has a garden with a pond in the forest.
You may not feel like you are still in Tokyo since it's so quiet and surrounded by trees.

Iris field is beautiful in June and many people visit here in June.

There's a well which was dug by Kiyomasa Kato who is a Feudal load in 16th century.
It's popular as a power spot.

Suijinja Shrine

Suijinja means "Water Shrine".
There used to be a water gate here for Kanda waterworks.
We had clean waterworks system in Tokyo in Edo era from 400 years ago.

Nobody knows how old this shrine is.
It must be older than 400 years since it's told this shrine was there at the beginning of Kanda waterworks.

This shrine is in the middle of a steep hill.

Attractions at Sunshine City

Sunshine City has many attractions inside of the building.
Observatory is renewal open recently as SKY CIRCUS.
It has not only observatory but also virtual reality attractions.

J-World Tokyo is a theme park of characters of cartoons on comic magazine "Shonen Jump".

Nanja Town has some areas featured fairy tale, nostalgic 1950's town and monster town.

They have Ancient Orient Museum and Sunshine Theater.
Aquarium and Planetarium are popular, too.

Sunshine City

Sunshine City is a commercial complex on the foot of Sunshine 60 building.
There're a lot of shops, restaurants and entertainments.
Price is relatively reasonable since many shops are for younger generations.

You will go through underpass to get into four story shopping area and if you get through that area, there's World Import Mart building which has many attractions.

Outside of the building, there're uneven stairs which is called Spanish Stairs.
I don't know why it's called "Spanish".

Tokudaiji Temple

Tokudaiji Temple is known as Marishiten.
Marishiten is one of guardian gods in Buddhism.

It's told that this temple was opened in 1653.

This temple is located in the middle of Ameyoko.
There's stairs to go up on the building.

This temple is surrounded by candy shops.

Ameya Yokocho

Ameya Yokocho is known as Ameyoko and it's an area between JR Ueno station and JR Okachimachi station which is filled with many many unique stores.

"Ameya" means Candy store and "Yokocho" means alley.
There's another theory that "Ameya" means American store since American ex-service goods were sold just after World War II.

Sea foods, snacks, clothes and shoes are popular here but there're a lot of specialty stores.  
Stores may discount the price or may give you some extra.

Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department

On the other side of the road in front of Ministry of Justice, there's Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.

This building is often on police dramas and movies.
Sometimes it's called "Sakuradamon" since it's located in front of Sakuradamon gate of the Imperial Palace.

Ministry of Justice

Building of Ministry of Justice is built at the end of 19th century.
This German Neo-Baroque architecture was damaged by bombing in World War II and restored.
This building is an important cultural property.

This place is often used for film taking.

You can see inside on week days.

Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, Tokyo

Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum, Tokyo is a red brick building restored in 2009.
Original building was designed by Josiah Conder and built in the end of 19th century as an office building.

This museum exhibits western arts in 19th century.
You can enjoy arts in the building which was originally built in the same period.

There's a free museum which shows history of this building.
