Nishigahara Ichirizuka (Mile Stone)

In Edo era, there're mile stones every 4 Km from Nihombashi on main roads.
There're only two mile stones left in Tokyo.

One is Shimura Ichirizuka and another one is Nishigahara Ichirizuka.

Since roads were expanded, one side of the mile stone is in the center of the road now.

Mitsugi Park

Mitsugi Park has a pond of spring water in the center of the park.
People are fishing here. Rowing boats are available.

A Roof Garden of Seibu Department Store

There's a garden with water lily pond.
This pond reminds me of famous pictures by Claude Monet.
Actually, this pond was designed by the inspiration from his works.

There're restaurants, food shops, fish shop and gardening shop around the pond.

Suspension Bridge in Kinuta Park

There's a suspension bridge at the North end of Kinuta Park.
Water stream runs under the bridge.

This bridge is surrounded by trees, too.
I don't know why it's not called Green Suspension Bridge.

Green Suspension Bridge

Green Suspension Bridge is in Otonashi Sakura Green Park.
I don't know why it's called Green Suspension Bridge.
Bridge itself is not green. Probably it's surrounded by trees.

There's a road with a narrow stream under the bridge.
This is one of a few suspension bridges in Metropolitan Tokyo.

Shin Nakamise Arcade

Nakamise Shopping Street is a popular place to visit in Asakusa.
There's another shopping street which cross at the right angle at the middle of Nakamise Street.
It's Shin Nakamise Arcade. "Shin" means "New".

This street has roofs so that you don't need an umbrella.
There're many restaurants and shops on the both side of the street.

Unique one is an Owl Cafe where you can stay with owls.

Gotenyama Garden is located next to Tokyo Marriott Hotel in Shinagawa.
This hilly garden has many trees and artificial water streams and water falls.

Different flowers are beautiful in four seasons.

There's a tea house and a wedding chapel in the garden.

Yamamoto-tei - Inside the house

Yamamoto-tei was built in early 1900 as a house of the president of camera parts manufacturer.
The house was moved and restored after the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923.

The architecture is a combination of traditional Japanese style and Modern Western style.

Garden is also beautiful especially when you see it from the room sitting on Tatami mat.

There's a cafe in here so that you can enjoy Japanese tea seeing the garden.

Koshinzuka in Sugamo used to be a rest spot on Nakasendo road in Edo era.
It deifies Sarutahiko who is the god for travel.

Monkey statues are in the shrine.

This shrine is located at the west end of Sugamo Jizo Dori Shopping Street.
