Koenji Awa Odori Festival

Awa Odori is street dancing originated in Tokushima prefecture in Shikoku Island.
This summer dancing has more than 400 years history and spread to all over Japan.

One in Koenji has one of the biggest parades with more than a million people.
It's held on the last weekend of August.

There're lines in the song of Awa Odori.
"Idiots who are dancing, Idiots who are watching. It's better dancing."

Women's dancing is organized and synchronized and Men's dancing is more free.
