Kyu Iwasakitei Gardens

This was the home of Hisaya Iwasaki, son of Yataro Iwasaki, the founder of Mitsubishi industrial group. Current area is only one third of original area which had 20 buildings.

Main building was designed by British architect Josiah Conder.
He designed many important buildings in Meiji Era such as National Museum Main Building, St. Nicholai Church, Kyu Furukawa Gardens Building etc.

You'll enjoy interior of the rooms and the view from the veranda.

A Japanese style building is connected to this western style building.
This Japanese style building used to be much bigger than current main building.
Currently only some rooms remain and one of them is used as a cafe.

It has a big ginkgo tree in front of main building and some maple trees in the garden.
