Daigo Fukuryumaru Museum

Daigo Fukuryumaru is a tuna fishing boat suffered nuclear testing in Pacific Ocean in 1954. Crews got sick due to radioactivity. One of them passed away in the next year.

This museum keeps this wooden boat as is.

Exhibition includes items used in the boat, ship's logbooks, letters from kids to sick crews, crew's diary etc.

Yumenoshima Park - Daigo Fukuryumaru Museum

Daigo Fukuryumaru is a tuna fishing boat and suffered a nuclear test in the Pacific Ocean in 1954. Crews are dead due to radiation exposure.

This boat was used as a training boat for a university and retired in 1967.
Tokyo Metropolitan Government built this museum to keep this boat as is to memorize this incident.

Yumenoshima Park - Tropical Greenhouse Dome

There're three glass domes and tropical plants are in here.
Around a big greenhouse with many tropical plants and subtropical plants, there's a theater, information gallery and event hall.

Heats are supplied from a incineration plant nearby.

Takifudo

Takifudo is located on the road near JR Otsuka station.
There used to be Yabata River around here and a stone statue of Fudo Myoo.

Taki means "fall" and it's named Takifudo since there was a small fall in the river.
Takifudo was restored in a new building in 1999. River was covered and runs underground now.
