Reiganji Temple

Reiganji Temple is a neighbor of Fukagawa Edo Museum.
It's opened in 1624.

There's one of Edo 6 Jizos in here.

Jizo is a guardian deity of children.
Edo six Jizos are sitting statues of Jizo built in early 18th century and 5 of them exists now. All of them are in the same size. It's about 2.7 m high.

There are real size replicas of houses, stores, hotels, alleys etc.

As time goes by, dawn breaks with cries of chicken, then the room becomes bright, and when you hear cat's meow, it's getting dark.

You'll see the very detail in and out of the houses so that you can feel the life in Edo era.

Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo

Honestly speaking, I don't understand Contemporary Art but it's fun to see Contemporary Art.
The MOT collection (regular exhibit) changes several times a year.

This huge museum is next to Kiba Park.
You have to walk about 10 minutes from the nearest subway station.
It's better to use buses if you don't want to walk.

Kiyosumi Park

Kiyosumi Park is a neighbor of Kiyosumi Gardens.
As far as autumn leaves are concerned, Kiyosumi Park is much better than Kiyosumi Gardens.

It has some huge ginkgo trees.
Their's a big ground in the center of the park and ginkgo trees are around the ground.
In the season, neighbors come here to play balls, have a picnic, take a nap and just relax under trees.

Kiyosumi Gardens

Sakura (Cherry Blossoms) week in spring may be the best timing to visit Japan.
But it lasts only a week to 10 days unless you follow Sakura frontier from south to north.

Autumn leaves in Japan are also beautiful and last longer.
Since there are several different kind of trees, you can find somewhere to visit.

Tokyo has many good spots to enjoy autumn leaves.
Maybe due to warmer climate, the best season seems to become later.

Probably the best season in Tokyo is late November through early December, but you can  enjoy it in October, too.Temperature gap between summer and autumn makes the color vivid. So it depends on how big the temperature change is in that year.

I'll give you the information about gardens and parks to visit in autumn leaves season in Tokyo.

Kiyosumi Gardens are one of  9 Tokyo Metropolitan Gardens.
This place was owned by Bunzaemon Kinokuniya who was one of the richest fruit merchants in Edo era.

In 1878, Yataro Iwasaki, the founder of Mitsubishi industrial group took over this place to make gardens for his visitors and employees.

This place has a big pond in the center, so you can enjoy walking on stepping stones in the pond and feeding carp.
