Free Shuttle Bus at Tokyo Station

Tokyo Station has free shuttle buses on both sides, Marunouchi side (Imperial Palace side) and Yaesu side (Nihombashi side).

Marunouchi Shuttle is good one to visit Hibiya park and East side of the Imperial Palace.

Metro Link Nihombashi is good one to visit museums and department stores in Nihombashi District through Kyobashi District.

They run every 15 minutes from 10:00 am through 8:00 pm every day.

Discount tickets are available for foreign travelers from Narita Airport..
If you are using Keisei Skyliner from Narita Airport, there're combination tickets with Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway.

Both ticket have three options such as 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours Subway Ticket.

Subway Ticket for Foreign Travelers from Haneda Airport

There're some special tickets for foreign travelers.
If you are using Keikyu Line from Haneda Airport, there're combination tickets with Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway.

It's called "Welcome! Tokyo Subway Ticket".

Tokyo Subway Ticket (Tokyo Metro + Toei Subway) + One way ticket from Haneda Airport
Tokyo Subway Ticket (Tokyo Metro + Toei Subway) + Round trip ticket from Haneda Airport

Both ticket have three options such as 1 day, 2 days and 3 days Subway Ticket.

Costs are as follows;

Welcome! Tokyo Subway 1-Day Ticket (One way): 1200 yen
Welcome! Tokyo Subway 2-Day Ticket (One way): 1600 yen
Welcome! Tokyo Subway 3-Day Ticket (One way): 1900 yen

Welcome! Tokyo Subway 1-Day Ticket (Round trip): 1500 yen
Welcome! Tokyo Subway 2-Day Ticket (Round trip): 1900 yen
Welcome! Tokyo Subway 3-Day Ticket (Round trip): 2200 yen

Half price for children.
You can purchase these tickets only at Keikyu Tourist Information Center on the 2nd floor at Haneda Airport International Terminal.

One Day Ticket for Subway

Subway in Tokyo has useful ticket for travelers.

Tokyo Metro has 24 Hours tickets which was changed from One day pass recently.
It costs 600 yen and you can use it for 24 hours after your first ride.
If you start using it in the afternoon, it'll valid in the morning of the next day.















Toei Subway has One Day Pass for 500 yen. But it's seasonal ticket.
It'll be available for several weeks in each season.
















Toei also has Marugoto (All-in-one) Ticket for 700 yen and this is always available.
This ticket is one day ticket to cover not only Toei Subway but also buses, street cars and Toneri Liner (New transportation system).
















Also, one day ticket to cover both Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway for 1000 yen.

When you make a plan for the day in Tokyo, you can make it reasonable by using these tickets wisely.

All tickets are available at Ticket Machine at the station.

Public Transportation System in Tokyo

In Tokyo, using public transportation system is economial and convenient.
Trains are punctual and you don't have to wait so long. It comes every 5 minutes or so.

JR is an abbreviation of Japan Railways.
Yamanote Line makes a big circle to stop at main stations in Tokyo.
Chuo Line runs from North to South to connect Shinjuku station and Tokyo station.

Subway system has so many lines and makes a big network.
We have two different systems.
One is Toei Subway which is operated by Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
Another one is Tokyo Metro.

You have to go through ticket gate to get into JR/Subway stations.
You can purchase ticket at automated ticket machine and wand or put into the slot at the ticket gate to go through.


 



There's an "English" button to change the screen to "English" mode.



Prepaid cards (SUICA or PASMO) are available if you use JR/Subway/Bus many times.
You can use this cards at vending machines and convenience stores.
500 yen deposit is required when you purchase it but you can get it back when you return it.

There's a street car line (Arakawa Line) and some new transportation systems like Toneri Liner, Yurikamome , Tokyo Monorail.

We have so many bus lines and they are pretty punctual, too.
You can use SUICA/PASMO on buses, too.
